Celebrity Big Brother...

Well I hate to admit that I am a bit of a Big Brother addict, and the first Celebrity edition of 2015 has certainly ruffled feathers! I hadn't heard of some of the 'Celebs' and the ones I had heard of I didn't hold a lot of love for. Here is my opinion on the house mates:

Alicia Douvall - 35, spent £1million to look like Barbie...didn't really go to plan did it?! Didn't really know much about her other than seeing photo's in magazines or on the internet; can honestly say she is ridiculous! She admitted on the show 'I have only recently learned shapes and the alphabet, while home schooling my three year old daughter.' I mean seriously, 35 years old and only just discovered what an octagon is?!

Cami Li - 26, Glamour model who was engaged to The Only Way Is Essex star Kirk Norcross. I had absolutely no idea who she was, but from her time in the house so far you definitely can't miss her! She has lots of tattoos, she doesn't suffer fools and is surprisingly intelligent as well as pretty. I don't like her attitude at times, she tends to go over the top during conflicts; but she can be funny to watch.

EVICTED

Chloe Goodman - 21, Model and also starred in MTV show 'Ex on the Beach'. Again I didn't know who she was, I didn't watch the MTV show so couldn't form an opinion from that. Chloe and Cami made fast friends and they were a bit of a 'terrible twosome'! She had the 'dressing gown incident' with fellow house mate Jeremy Jackson (he opened her gown while drunk in the toilet after being sick), I felt sorry for her after this; but she soon bounced back and her fiery personality meant she was involved in most of the house arguments! Clearly the public didn't like her much for this, and she was the first house mate to be evicted.

EJECTED

Jeremy Jackson - 34, Actor most famous for his role in Baywatch as a teenager. Didn't watch Baywatch, so didn't have a clue who he was either! After watching his VT before he entered the house I immediately thought he just wasn't well enough mentally to take part. He has a troubled past with drug addiction and is also suffering through the recent split of his marriage, needless to say after a few too many drinks he showed just how troubled he really is. After the incident with Chloe, Big Brother had no choice but to remove him from the house.

Nadia Sawalha - 50, Actress and TV Presenter. Finally someone I had heard of! Although after watching her in the house, I honestly don't like her much! She doesn't really do a lot, very dull viewing indeed. She has taken fellow house mate Perez under her wing, and sticks up for him even when its blatantly obvious she shouldn't be!

Kavana - 37, Singer. My inner teenager did a little happy dance when I saw him enter the house! Seems like a really nice and genuine guy, but as yet hasn't really done much to entertain (apart from singing his tune 'I can make you feel good' during a task!)

EJECTED

Ken Morely - 71, Actor. Best known for playing Reg Holdsworth in Coronation Street, annoyed me even back then! Don't want to waste too much time on him really, he was vile in the house. Constantly made sexist remarks, racial slurs and was just a disgusting human being; due to this Big Brother removed him from the house,

Keith Chegwin - 57, Actor and Presenter, I have heard of 'Cheggers' but haven't seen him in any shows. My Mom thought he'd be annoying, but so far can't make a comment as he stays out of conflicts and doesn't do much else but eat and sleep!

Katie Hopkins - 39, Best known for being on 'The Apprentice' and now a professional troll. I can honestly say I hated this woman before she entered the house, but now I actually quite like her. Her views and opinions can be very blunt to say the least, but at least you can't accuse her of being two-faced! In the house she has had a few run-ins with Perez Hilton, but seriously, she's only human...Perez is as Katie described 'the genital wart on the face of this house!'

WALKED

Alexander O'Neal - 61, Singer. This man was hilarious, such a legend! Just his personality made me laugh, it was uncomfortable viewing when Ken Morely decided to call black people 'Negro's' to his face...but Alexander was so gracious in his reply; he was firm, but didn't fly off the handle. I have massive respect for this man, and was more than disappointed when after a series of conflicts with Perez; he decided to leave the house,

Calum Best - 33, Son of the late, great George Best. Don't get me wrong he's not exactly horrible to look at, but that's about it for Calum. Not doing much in the house, other than flirting relentlessly with Cami-Li...showmances aren't my thing unfortunately.

Patsy Kensit - 46, Actress. I didn't really pay much attention to Patsy outside of Big Brother, and inside Big Brother isn't much different! Sick of seeing her in bed or going on about meditation, she wouldn't be missed if she left in my opinion.

Katie Price - 36, best know as being glamour model Jordan. Now, some people are probably going to hate me for this; but this woman annoys me so much! Yes she has earned millions, and she may have worked hard for some of it...but dragging your private life through the public eye, and leaving absolutely nothing to the imagination is just wrong! She hasn't been in the house long and has already been talking about her ex boyfriends and their sexual exploits! I am not her biggest fan at all!

Perez Hilton - 36, internet blogger. This man is probably the most annoying creature to come out of the USA! He is offensive, highly annoying and the most attention seeking idiot I have seen on TV for a while. How he has the audacity to say Katie Hopkins is 'vile' and act like he does is the highest form of hypocrisy...get him out of there as soon as possible!

Michelle Visage - 46, Singer, Radio/TV presenter. Another BB house mate that I hadn't heard of, but I love her now! From her blurb on Channel 5's website she said 'I'm in there for the gay community. And not just the gays but for any kid who feels like they've never belonged to a group. All the freaks, all the weirdos, all the misfits who never felt like their life was worth it or have questioned if their life was worth it. I am in there for them' - See more at: http://bigbrother.channel5.com/housemate/michelle-visage#sthash.kiQJ1bSR.dpuf
For me, she is my favourite and I hope she wins!

Let Down by You!

Well I have finally finished Captivated by You, and my opinion of it didn't really change. I love Gideon and Eva, but during this book they didn't really seem to move forward with their relationship; it was more rehashing old problems and having more problems threw at them.

The only thing I really enjoyed about this book was the fact that alternate chapters were told from Gideon's perspective. It gave you more of an insight into his character, and I believe makes the reader view him in a whole different light. He is more open and vulnerable than was first perceived in the previous books, that for me was the only saving grace! I am still eagerly awaiting the next instalment 'One With You' and hope for a more rounded plot, with less filler.

I have searched my kindle and bookshelf for my next read, I have so many books stacked up its hard to choose! But have decided next is the Mortal Instruments series as I have already read the first two: City of Bones and City of Ashes. I will update with my thoughts on book three, City of Glass :)

As for my TV watching this week, I have slipped a bit as I still haven't caught up with my Sky planner! I have watched the series 2 opener for The 100, and I am still loving all the twists in the plot (I haven't read the books yet as wanted to watch the show first!) The best part for me so far is the camp of survivors have all been separated so it will be interesting to see how or if they will all reunite.

The only other show I am all caught up with (at UK pace) is Revenge, I was so surprised when David Clarke turned up after being thought dead for three seasons. Season four I am looking forward to seeing how his relationship with Victoria pans out, and if he will realise that Emily is in fact Amanda Clark...the twists and turns of Revenge, I absolutely love it!

Time to get some reading done, will update soon :)

Rowdy is love!

Not long finished reading Jay Crownover's 'Rowdy' I am in love with her Marked Men series! I am a big fan of tattoos and stories that get to a happy ending, and although the road to happiness for the main characters has a few bumps in the road; they get there eventually and it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside! (Plus a few steamy sex scenes, keeps the imagination going!)
Rowdy - Jay Crownover

Having read all of the Marked Men books, I think I fall a little harder for each character with each book I read. The characters are all believable and for me its hard not to identify personally with them, this is why I love Jay's style of writing as it feels pretty real and makes reading her stories so easy.
I particularly loved Rowdy's lady, Salem. She is one hell of a classy woman; plus she has an independent streak a mile a wide! This makes her really endearing to the reader as she isn't just some dippy bimbo that lives to rely on man, she makes her own decisions, has a career and doesn't put up with any crap. That being said she is still a sensitive soul and you can really relate to her insecurities, and proves that everyone can harbour a little jealousy.
As for Rowdy, he's seriously hot! After a horrible start in life filled with loss and abandonment, he's found his way with the help of all the other members of the Marked Men family. He is a successful tattooist, fiercely loyal to the ones he loves and although he is apprehensive when Salem comes back into his life (they have a rocky past, from when they were children) eventually he learns to love and be loved.
All in all its another fantastic book by Jay, I can only say: GO READ NOW!
Asa is the next title in the series and I have already pre-ordered, the 21st of April is just so far away!

Here is a link to her site: http://www.jaycrownover.com/

I am currently reading 'Captivated By You' by Sylvia Day, again I have read the entire Crossfire series so far, but half way in I can't help but feel that this instalment is more of a gap filler for the final book. I will save my real review until I have finished reading, but so far I am not very impressed!

Time to sign off, I have some TV to catch up on, including: Crisis, Revenge, The Librarians and my guilty pleasure that is...Neighbours! :)

New Year - New Venture

My very first post in the blogger universe! I am starting off a brand new chapter in life, and wanted to write a blog to reflect my change in direction.

My name is Emma, I am 30 years old and have recently acquired a Diploma in Proofreading and Copy Editing. While I am on the hunt for freelance work in this area, a blog seemed like a great opportunity to put my views and ideas down on a variety of subjects that interest me.

I am a bit of a book addict and try to read as much as possible in my spare time, I read an awful lot of YA fiction and have recently got into the New Adult genre, mix that up with Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Chick Lit and a bit of Thriller/Horror...a bit of an eclectic mix! I will pretty much read anything if the blurb on the back piques my curiosity.

Also I watch a fair bit of television and films, my tastes are the same as my book choices; if it looks good I'll give it a go! Although I do tend to watch more shows that are focused on Sci-Fi and the paranormal.

So, to sum up this will be my place to review (or rant!) anything I read/watch/listen to; and that is basically why I titled my blog 'My Media Moments'.

Now the introduction is done, look out for my future posts :)
